Slovakia

In Bratislava for the weekend just past. Its got everything, from giant modern bridges to run down graffiti ridden scenes fresh out of the Soviet Union, all framed on one side by an incredible industrial district with 100s of chimneys and power stations, and the other by rolling hills striped with allotments and towering wind farms.

leaves leaving

here is my seasonal photograph... i know its completely blown out, over worked and for all you know, staged.... but bugger it.

in the woodland next to where i work it took almost 150 snaps to get the bloody thing crisp, so who cares if you cant see the clouds. Its a leaf falling from a tree.

cheers

No. 2

Went to see a bit of a unique gig last night, Mumford and Sons. After getting hopelessly lost in the middle of nowhere, we finally found Mumford Barn. The band had just started, and it was hoes down!
Check them out... and these photos.

Welcome.

Hi,
Well its been on my mind for a while to set up a blog. I'm a bit of a day dreamer, but never really note things down. I love the thought of it, but just never get round to it. So here we go.
In Oxford at the moment, bit of a temporary gig working towards a final year at Edinburgh College of art. I study Landscape Architecture. Its a hard profession to define, its a weighty subject, but a bit fuzzy around the edges. Like most I have a hobby, that's where photos come in, I have always been a bit restless and I tend to use a camera as my excuse for... just about everything. Recently my photos have become a bit darker, I have been living alone in Oxford, and find this a perfect opportunity to give rest to any distractions and study, hone in on something, I get great excitement out of conceptual photography but have never really, gone for it. I tend to go for more.. epic photos, if I was to subscribe to a genre, it would have to be a rhapsody style, if that makes sense in any way. I like dramatic skies and huge wave crashes, speeding cars and weathered fishermen. I like taking these stills of life, and exaggerating their meaning, hoping to enrich their validity as a documental record.
These things that I think are important seem to clutter my life.
Load of old shite.
Cheers
